New Addictions: Youtube Webseries

I thought I should share some of my most recent addictions, which are webseries! Like almost everyone else, I love to watch tv shows, and I am always trying to find new stuff to get addicted to, but lately I've just been getting tired of all the usual tv shows, I wanted something new. Aaaaand that's where webseries come in! I saw lots of people on tumblr posting about two series in particular, and I figured I should check them out. I'm going to divide my opinions in two posts, and first we have Carmilla.

Carmilla's a retelling of the gothic novella also named Carmilla, by the author Joseph Sheridan LeFanu, and I must say, I binge watched the whole thing in a few hours.

Basically, Carmilla tells us the story of a (not so) young vampire named, well, Carmilla, and her influence over Laura. The series give it a modern twist, so the setting is in a college dorm room, and everything is filmed in a Lizzie Bennet Diaries style, with vlogs by the perspective of the quirky Laura Hollis. The show also sends positive lgbt+ vibes since it features queer and genderqueer characters, without focusing on that whole "still getting out of the closet" thing that is almost always showed in other tv shows and etc. The acting can get a liiiitle bit cheesy sometimes, but it's easily overlooked because there is always something happening, or there is always someone making a humorous joke.

I'd just advise people who want to watch this, to watch the first 3 or 4 episodes in a row, because at first things can get a little bit confusing by all the new information.

I'd give it a 7/10, I think, because besides the acting, it definitely got me hooked! You can find out more about the series on their tumblr, youtube, facebook and twitter!
