Elliot Rodger and #YesAllWomen
TW: Rape, Cat Calling, etc.
I'm not sure if you've heard of this piece of shit called Elliot Rodger, and what he did, but if you haven't, go google it, when I have time I'll make sure to add the link to everything here.
So this fucktard who was previously mentioned, was a "good guy". You know how "good guys" are, right? Always talking about how women prefer others over them, how we're sluts if we friendzone them, always victimizing themselves. And that was Elliot's case. He was a "good guy". He was 22 and a virgin, a spoiled little brat who got told "no" too many times for his like, so he decided that he should get revenge. Not by creating memes about how women can be such sluts, and being sad about being in the friendzone, no. He killed 7 women. Seven, innocent women were killed because of that stupid son of a bitch.
But this isn't something that has happened for the first time, nope. Everyday women are threatened because they say no to a man. Guns are pointed at girls when they refuse to go to prom with someone. And guys, this is a terrifying thought. This is so scary that I feel like crying, because this happened, this happens, and still some men think that what Elliot and other men did has an excuse. First of all, because he was the son of someone who participated in the making of The Hunger Games, and some people even use his disease as an excuse. I'm not sure on this one, correct me if I'm wrong, but he had Aspergers, so suddenly everything he did, murdering people, was fine.
Hey, hey, look at me. No. Having a disease has nothing to do with having a sick, twisted mind. Nothing at all. His behavior was absolutely despicable. He even recorded a video answering why he had done it. Go search it and watch it, if you have the stomach for that. I felt like vomiting throughout the whole video.
And as these news started to spread through the world like wildfire, a lot of girls who are rape victims and such, started to call out all the daily bullshit that women have to go through. There's even a very very important hashtag trending on twitter, called #YesAllWomen. I'd suggest every man- no! - Every human, to go scroll through it and read it.
These past days must've been super triggering to some victims, I'm a victim of cat calling every now and then, and I can only imagine what actual rape victims and any type of victims must be going through. I also want to send my heart out to all of the women who were injured and killed by Elliot Rodger.
Humans can truly be wild, irrational beast sometimes.
